Dresden

Dresden is stunning, far more so than I thought it would be. I can tell you a few facts and figures about its grand history, but the Wikipedia page does a better job of conveying its rich depth and timeline than I can. My simple photos, as pleased as I am with them, cannot capture the intricacy and detail of the architecture, art, and food.

I was more than amazed at the amount of German and European history still standing along the banks of the Elbe and how much of it is incorporated into daily life for the locals. It is certainly worth a stop on one's tour of Europe.
